Villa Carina Apartments

Bonaire (Dutch Caribbean)

Villa Carina is a small, sun filled resort on Bonaire, an island in the Leeward Antilles in the Caribbean Sea. They approach sustainability as a way to preserve and improve local culture, nature and economy in a fair way.

WHAT
A small holiday resort in Kralendijk, Bonaire island’s capital. It’s owners are truly dedicated to sustainability and ensure that their guest’s experience on the island creates as little environmental impact as possible.

WHY
Bonaire thrives on tourism, mostly driven by visitors keen on diving to explore its stunning underwater world. Villa Carina is focused on preserving the island’s coral and extremely careful with what goes into the ground in terms of waste, and anything that can impact the ecosystem.

HOW
The resort collects rainwater and recycles 60% of wastewater, reducing both water usage and pollution. All lighting throughout the property is LED and powered by solar panels. Waste is separated for recycling and they exclusively use eco-friendly cleaning products.
