Casa do Fundo is a small, family run, sustainable hotel in a mountain village in the north of Portugal, within the the Serra da Estrela Natural Park.

They have implemented good environmental and social practices from the moment they opened their doors in 2005, and have sustainable management and education at the core of their strategy.

WHAT
A small hotel with six bedrooms in the midst of nature at the bottom of the peaceful Serra da Estrela mountain, offering a truly a truly traditional experience giving it’s guests a feel of the community that surrounds the venue.

HOW
The daily life of guests is intertwined with the local community, from the fresh bread served at breakfast baked by the local baker, to the cheese and honey provided, everything is sourced locally supporting the surrounding traditional businesses.

WHY
Supporting the local economy is part of the hotel’s DNA. They strongly believe that good environmental practice and sustainability are the key to maintain the successful balance they have with the local community. Preserving tradition, history and the environment.
